Church Strategic Planning

Not too long ago I listened to the Church Leader Insight Podcast on
an Introduction to Church Systems. It was incredibly inspirational in
getting me thinking about the systems we have at Celebration Church,
and what part I might play in creating a God First Church structure for
our campuses. So I began to pray and talk with some great folks we have
on staff or in the congregation. I engaged a great friend Sam Abood in
helping with some strategic planning and Pastor Wayne Lanier in helping
and today we presented some of our goals for the next few months to
Pastor Stovall.
Here is what we are working on. If you have any
insight to this kind of stuff, let me know. At the very least, please
be praying we can successfully do this.
At the heart of is it to
position people to put God First in every area of their life. The God
First life starts with a decision to turn their lives over to Christ.
Once they do that, the next steps are to lead them into being fully
devoted followers. "God First People". We have noticed we do a pretty
good job of getting in the door, but we really need to work on our
discipleship processes to give people a variety of opportunities to
engage in and live out thier lives calling. One of those avenues has to
do with serving, but it is an avenue not the avenue. We will also need
to find other avenues for people to live out a God First Life through
the local church.

Here is what we have on deck:
We are working on the following that might be applied network wide:

  1. A campus specific organizational FLOW chart highlighting the key roles from a campus perspective
  2. A
set of Job Descriptions and Role Requirements from a campus perspective
down to the volunteer level (non-network, non-operations)
  3. A set of basic training to fulfill prerequisites for various job requirements as listed in Item #2
  4. A suggested First Try Process to move people from On Ramp to a Ministry serving role
  5. A
Campus Plant Launch Plan – Use Daytona as guinea pig, start with ARC
Plant model tweak to our environment, then re-apply to Middleburg,
    beaches.

All of the above we look to have in a working
model by the end of July with first drafts to the executive team by
early July so we can tweak before any formal implementation.

  1. A suggested path to take people from a Serving Ministry role, to Department head, to Campus Pastor.
  2. A continuing education process within each campus level department including ongoing meeting schedules, etc.

The
last item listed above would be further in the future and will be built
as we go and experience items pertaining to the launches with the idea
of getting these 2 new additional systems in place over the fall to
ensure growth paths for people in ministry at the campus level.

Please be praying that we see incredible success in these areas..
