Fast Tuesday Prayer Requests

Posted by Eric Jaffe | Posted in Prayer | Posted on 22-04-2008

It strikes me that of all the things we could possibly pray for regarding the church the one thing that would make the biggest difference would be for a mighty outpouring of God’s Spirit in our midst.

When God shows up in power, might, miracles, signs, wonders, people can’t help but be drawn unto him for salvation, healing, deliverance, etc.

So Lord, above all else as we fast and pray today might you pour out your spirit in our midst. We cry out for a mighty outpouring of your holy spirit.  Lord as you have said you would do this in the last days, might you make it so today.

Acts 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: 18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: 19 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:

Live Blogging from the International House of Prayer

Posted by Eric Jaffe | Posted in Prayer | Posted on 18-04-2008

Live blogging from the prayer room @ 3:35 in the afternoon.

I’ve been around church now since May of 1991, I have seen a lot of different things in Christianity. Some incredibly awesome, some outright weird, something’s worth imitating, some things we need to run from. I’ve been to conferences and learned about methods to grow a church. I’ve sat in churches that were alive with God’s presence, I’ve been in times of dryness.

But I am here to say that something incredible is happening in Kansas City. Right now Misty Edwards is on stage leading a multi-cultural worship team singing about, one goal, one aim, one vision, one dream, on thing – Jesus. With black led chorus of Ain’t no one like you Jesus… There are about 500+ people in the room together with no agenda but to pray and seek God. No conversation, no show, just 24/7/365 praise and worship. Incense continually burning to the heavens..

Times like this have happened in the church, but in our day and age there is nothing like it in the united states. 9+ years of continuous worship flowing from a single location living out eziekeiel 44:15 which is lit up on the wall adjacent from me and reads “The priests, the sons of Zadok, who kept charge of my Sanctuary, they shall come near to Me to minister to Me.”

They are praying for their city, interceding for our country, for the world. Doing spiritual warfare on our behalf night and day. Plowing spiritual ground in the heavenlies.

I am in awe of what is going on, but I am also in awe of the multicultural move that is happening here. The lady sitting next to me has a Korean bible, there are many people here who are Asian believers, Hispanic, black, white with all one goal, one aim, one vision, one dream – Jesus the son of God.

Lord prepare us, may your spirit be poured out in Jacksonville, might you manifest your power and might in our midst. Lord we pray for revival, we pray for racial unity, we pray that the church of Jacksonville would have a singular dream of knowing you and making you known. That we would return to the roots, return to the basics, that your house would once again be a house of prayer for ALL NATIONS. That we would set aside out petty differences and that people would know us for our love for one another. That when one is weak others who are strong would lift eachother up.

That the church would not live out a Sunday morning faith, that we wouldn’t wait till Sunday to experience you, but that we would wait on you daily, that you would be our priority, our goal, our mission in life..

Let the latter rain fall on your church. Lord you promised us miracles, and signs and wonders. Lord let them manifest themselves in Jacksonville. Lord our heart weaps over this city. For those who are murdered, for those who are poor and oppressed, for the unwed mothers, for those who are divorced, for those who are abused, for those who have no voice.

Prepare your church God – Position us – make us ready – purify our hearts. Make us instruments for your glory. Lord may we make your name famous in all the earth – may you open the doors for your word to spread rapidly and have great effect. Lord we long for revival in our hearts, in our families, in our  church, in our city, in our country, in this world.

There is none like you!

Breakforth in our city, bring people of all races and backgrounds together in one accord in worship of you.

You are an awesome God – worthy to be praised….

One goal, one vision, one dream, amen..

They definitely have something unique going on here. The amount of people praying continuously is mind boggling and these shots really don’t do it justice. Between 4-6pm there was probably 500+ people in the room. Standing room only on a Thursday night, can you believe that in a church? wow.. God is truly good.

Bryan and I had a great time praying, reflecting, brainstorming in the coffee shop. Spending time with Pastor Jeff, Brian, Ryan, and crew as well as some new friends we have met along the way.

Have the 1st draft of my weekend message done as well as the material for Engage week 3.

I am looking forward to tomorrow big time.

Matthew 21:13 And He said to them, “It is written,
‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’

I am truly overwhelmed with the goodness and power of God. As I write this it is 10:39am on a thursday room and I am sitting in a room with perhaps 400-500 people gathering with no agenda but to worship God and Pray and this is happening 24/7/365 days a year with different worship teams leading worship in 2 hour sets around the clock.

No bells, no whistles, no flashing lights, no smoke, haze, props. Nothing zip nada except a group of people seeking after God with everything in them.

The lead pastor and all the staff volunteers, etc. Spend 24 hours a week minimum in the prayer room. It’s no wonder God is moving. The closest thing I can analogize to it is a war room in the finest since. I have had the opportunity to visit the State of Florida and Flagler Counties emergency operations centers and while probably unintentional the design of this room is strikingly similar.  A large open space in center where "Warfare" is being lifted unto the heavens, 12+ breakout rooms tied ajacently to the central space with various themes – Jerusalem, intercession, healing, prophecy, travail. Much like the breakout rooms in the natural found at the states war rooms where different sub groups would go to plan..

This place is filled with young people some 3000+ enrolled in their forerunner school of ministry. The crowd is amazingly diverse with people of all ethnic groups and backgrounds gathering together in a single space. Interceding.

Words can’t describe.. especially mine. wow..

It puts a whole new twist on whywaituntilsunday.com

Pictures will be posted soon.
