Wanted to let the cat out of the bag on our new series starting April 12th.. "Why wait until Sunday"…

Want to encourage people to begin praying, and believing God that He will use it to reach many people for Christ. To those who are not a part of Journey we will be touting the benefits of Saturday night church. IE you can sleep in both weekend days, fun with the family, jetskiing, etc. The series itself will be an examination of what church really is. Not a day of the week, or a service. The church is the people who  make up the body of Christ you and me. We are the church wherever we go.

It will be our first real marketing campaign entailing press releases, a web site, mailers, radio, and television spots. It will be our first attempt to lay down air cover for people’s personal efforts to share their faith and invite people to journey.

We will be fasting and praying for a mighty outpouring each wednesday leading up to and during the campaign and we need your thoughts, ideas, suggestions on what church is, how we should market it, getting the word out, etc. so feel free to post and more than anything else – pray.

We are believing God for some great things in this season – May God double the size of the church by august by bringing in people who don’t have a relationship with Jesus. May we be equiped and ready to make disciples!

  1. Eric,
It amazes me what God continues to do in and through the Jaffe family! As Susan and I left our Life Group last night we still reflect back over 10 years ago when you led your first small group in your home in South FL! We have a group of 9 couples who are forming similar bonds, but we always remember the great friendships that we made and amazing things that came from that group! It looks like God is still using you and Mary Jo man! “Whoa to me if I don’t preach the Gospel” certainly defines what you stand for. God is changing the city of Charlotte as well and it is humbling to be a part of it! Please let me know how we can support you guys and sow a seed into the happenings in Jacksonville! You know we believe in you and that our offerings are used only for the Lord’s work. What better thing to spend your money on? Keep seeking Him!

  2. Hi Eric,
I have just one question about this post……Does this mean that if I continue to come to church on Saturday nights, you will give me a jetski?
I’d also like to attest personally as to the benefits of going to church on Saturday nights. When my husband and I first began coming to church together, it was ONLY because there was a Saturday night service! Because we were just dating at that time, our schedules were very different, as were our church backgrounds. We’d been talking about going back to church together for months, as we’d both stopped going after difficult divorces. One day God placed a sign squarely in front of us……on the grass in front of the church we’d thought we might like to try. It said that they now had a Saturday night service!
We walked in, found new pastors, a new church family, a fresh new life in Christ, and we’ve never looked back!
We view Saturday night church not only as the anchor in our spiritual lives, but also as our “date night”, (we’re old!) and a wonderful time to be able to socialize afterwards with our friends and “family”. (I also love the free coffee, and having grown up going to coffee hour every single Sunday of my life, I think it’s almost heresy to charge for it!)
I can’t wait to see the advertising! God is moving in a HUGE way in this place already….. imagine what will happen when you advertise it!
    In His love,
    K
