Sharing our Faith

Last week and this week we have been sharing a lot about personal evangelism. It was neat to see the difference between how Pastor Stovall shared about the topic and how I did too. Combining them seemed to present a very well rounded view of the topic. At it’s core is tuning into the prompting of the Holy Spirit to help people move closer towards making a descion for Christ, or to make a descison for Christ. Either is good because both are part of the process. I pray that all Celebrationers would be bold about sharing their faith in whatever context God has placed them.

Before I go, I want to share my favorite way to share the good news. It doesn’t really have a great deal to do with personal evangelism, but sometimes ends up there. My favorite thing to do is Simple Acts of Christian Kindness. Throughout the year we do one about every 6 weeks. Usually in doing so we leverage a crowd that is already in existence. This year we did free water bottle give aways, we passed out water at the Gate River Run, we held an Easter Egg Hunt for Children with Special Needs, on July 4th we gave away toys to kids at a fireworks display, and this month we are doing two.

1) Town of Orange Park Arts and crafts show – We are going to have a booth at the show getting kids to build a craft for free. While they are doing their craft, it gives us an opportunity to share with the parents, invite them to the Family Fun Fest and to Church. Each time we have done this God has used in to draw people to church, and in turn often times people have made decisions for Christ.

2) Family Fun Fest – A Christian Alternative to Halloween. This is our biggy each year. This year we are believing for 5000+ people to be in attendance. The gospel will be presented from the stage through bands and occasional speakers. We have invited 3 other churches to join us and are praying that God will use it to draw many people into a relationship with God.
