Some tips for staying connected over the summer
The kids are out of school, the sun is out, the water is warm, we live in Florida. For many of us that means it’s time for vacation or weekends at the beach. A time to simply relax and refresh. We all need that, take advantage of it. Enjoy that time with family, just make sure you don’t take a break from your faith. Remember to prioritize your life even while on vacation around putting Christ first in everything you do.
Here are a few tips to help you build your faith over the summer..
Continue with your daily prayer and devotion time. Pick up a bible bookmark and stay on the 1 year bible reading challenge. You can also goto http://www.youversion.com and use the “Life Journal Reading Plan” to follow along with us.
While out of town visit a new church where you are at. Experience something fresh or tune into any of our services live @ http://www.livestream.com/journeychurch . Note that all previous broadcasts are posted there grouped by sermon series giving you the opportunity to watch any message you missed at any time. You might also subscribe to our podcast on iTunes to automatically download all new messages as soon as they are posted..
Use Facebook and Twitter to stay connected to your church family http://www.facebook.com/journeychurch.org or visit http://journeychurch.org
Stay consistent in your financial giving by using the donate online link on the homepage of http://www.journeychurch.org or goto your banks website and use your online bill pay features to automatically send your tithe to: Journey Church, 5000 US Highway 17, suite 18 #95, orange park, FL 32003
If you are on a serve team, block out any days you are on vacation at http://www.planningcenteronline.com – not on a serve team? What a great time to jump in. Sign up using your connection card or visit the Get Connected portion of our website to find Serve Team opportunities.
Small groups – sign up for one. Meet some new friends and have some fun over the summer.
Sign up for one or more of our outreach events to help us reach people in our community with the love of Christ.
Show up on Wednesday nights at the new facility. Help us build it and help us be prepared for the August grand opening.
Do you have any tips for things that have helped you stay connected? Feel free to post them as comments to help others grow as Christ followers this summer..
