The Path – Creating a Mission Statement for Work and Life

Tonight we will be finishing up our mid-week series. High Definition Living which was inspired by Ed Youngs book with the same name. The book challenges the reader to see their life’s mission in High-Definition clarity. It’s a topic I am very fired up about.

Isaiah 30:21says, "Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, "This is the way; walk in it."

Other verses in the bible make it abundantly clear that there is a race to run and God doesn’t want anything to cut in on us and keep us from fullfilling the call He has placed on our lives. Numerous other books like Rick Warrens, "Purpose Driven Life" help make our calling more clear.

My hope is that nobody in Celebration Church would see their life’s call through old rabbit ear TV reception, but rather they would see it in High Definition clarity. To that end we are challenging our congregation to craft a personal life mission and vision statement for living and a set of guiding principles to live their lives by.

We are recommending the following book by Laurie Beth Jones "The Path" as a means of helping craft that. I encourage everyone to pick up a copy, read it, and do the work listed inside of it, then live our lives out using whatever God reveals to us during that process.

In a previous post I highlighted my life’s mission, "Live your life to make a difference in the lives of others
in Jesus’ name."

In a future post I will describe how I flesh that vision out.

Not long ago I also posted about the guiding principles of life.

Just something to think about.

If you know of any better resources for the crafting a personal mission statement, please let me know.
